Trump Media Reports $238 Million Loss in Three-Month Period

Donald Trump's social media company Trump Media announced that it incurred a loss of $238 million in the second quarter of 2026. According to the company's statement, this loss is ten times greater than the same period last year. A significant portion of the loss was due to the company's investments outside of media, particularly in the cryptocurrency sector.

Trump Media and Technology Group plans to refocus on its social media mission, primarily the Truth Social platform. The company's interim CEO Kevin McGurn stated that with this new direction, they have begun offering a service that provides quick access to effective users' posts, and more than 10 clients have registered for this service.

The company reported a total revenue of $1.7 million, an increase of 89% compared to the same period last year, but stated that it experienced an overall loss due to the decline in cryptocurrency markets. Additionally, it announced that at the end of the second quarter, its total assets were $2 billion, and its financial assets were $1.9 billion. These assets include cash, short-term investments, and digital currencies.

Analysts indicate that Trump Media is essentially a cryptocurrency asset holding company shaped around a media company. The company aims to expand in the social media space as well as in the cryptocurrency business, but these new ventures have not yet generated significant revenue. Last month, Trump Media's plan to offer Wall Street traders quick access services through Truth Social raised some legal and ethical questions.

McGurn stated that this new revenue stream should improve the company's financial situation and that shareholders will receive regular updates on progress every quarter. Trump Media aims for further growth in social media and financial sectors.
