New Game: Prime Minister Simulator Makes Politics Fun

A mobile game created by a developer has recently surpassed Minecraft to take the top spot on Apple's paid games list. Developed by Manchester-based Sleepy Boy Games, "No 10: Full Confidence" offers players the opportunity to take on the role of Prime Minister. The game is a simulator where players try to stay in power for as long as possible by managing various scenarios they encounter in Parliament. This game has achieved remarkable success, particularly because it focuses on UK politics.

Players must balance four different groups as Prime Minister - the cabinet, opposition MPs, the media, and the public. The game features over 300 fictional political scenarios, written by developer Benjamin Brewis. The decisions within the game cover a wide range of topics, from mundane issues to bizarre events. For example, there is a story about a lobbyist who unleashed a dog in the House of Lords, which spread uncontrollably. In each scenario, players progress by choosing one of three options on the screen, and these choices affect the reactions of different groups.

Benjamin Brewis states that the inspiration for the game comes from real-life political events. Drawing from his own experiences, he has reflected the interesting attitudes of various politicians in the game. Some players have managed to stay in power for a long time by playing the game quite successfully; it is reported that one player remained in office for a full 157 years.

Brewis mentions that he started creating the game in December 2025 and thought that the political turmoil in the UK could be addressed in a humorous way at that time. The fact that five different individuals have taken on the role of Prime Minister in recent years, combined with the influence of social media in politics, has increased the popularity of such a game. Brewis's game currently ranks fifth on Apple's paid games list in the UK, and other political simulator games are also being developed.

These new types of games provide a different perspective on political events by presenting them in an entertaining language, benefiting both players and political discussions. However, Brewis is unsure whether real politicians have played the game, but he notes that feedback from his friends indicates that the game's realism is quite accurate.
