Trump Describes AI Security Concerns as 'Nonsense'

United States President Donald Trump described concerns about artificial intelligence (AI) security as "nonsense," opposing calls for more measures in this area. In statements made via social media, Trump claimed that fears about the future of AI are a scam orchestrated by "Radical Left Democrats."

These remarks came after Jack Clark, co-founder of AI giant Anthropic, expressed the need for a third-party controllable "kill switch" for dangerous AI systems. Clark highlighted the growing concerns about the risks AI poses to humanity, noting that this situation has led to a decline in the stocks of some technology companies among investors.

Trump compared concerns about AI security to the "RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA hoax," signaling a "common sense conspiracy" regarding AI and data centers. Chinese media outlets stated that Washington's concerns about China's rapid AI development distort its policy priorities. An academic from Fudan University emphasized that the U.S.'s intention to slow down or regulate developments in the AI field could pave the way for China to advance even further in this area.

Clark noted that if AI software becomes dangerous, the complete shutdown methods may need to be regulated by society. Additionally, major tech companies like Microsoft have begun taking steps to limit the development of AI. Microsoft's CEO Mustafa Suleyman announced that they have published a document on human-centered AI development principles.

Moreover, two significant figures with differing views in the political world will come together at the same event to call for a reassessment of AI policies. Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon and progressive Senator Bernie Sanders will speak at an event called "Pro-Human Assembly" in Washington. Sanders stated that the uncontrolled growth of AI must be stopped, expressing that it poses a threat to humanity's existence. Discussions about the potential dangers of AI have intensified in recent days.
