Last week, he conducted a poll on social media for alternative names, suggesting terms like 'superior intelligence', 'extreme intelligence', and 'superior intelligence'. However, the most preferred name in the voting was 'super intelligence'. The purpose of this rebranding and whether it will be adopted by the tech industry remains uncertain. Artificial intelligence refers to a computer technology that enables machines to perform tasks that require human thought, while the term 'super intelligence' expresses a superior intelligence in all aspects of humans, as previously defined by philosopher Nick Bostrom. This concept is still at a purely theoretical level. Simon Coghlan, a digital ethics lecturer at the University of Melbourne, emphasized that this rebranding is misleading, stating, "Super intelligence refers to a system with self-improvement capabilities. Therefore, I think it will be difficult to adopt the term 'SI'." Technology experts agree that using the term 'super intelligence' to describe today's artificial intelligence systems would be misleading. Ben Leong, a computer science lecturer at the National University of Singapore, noted that professionals would prefer to reserve this term for higher-level artificial intelligence. Those around Trump have begun to adopt the term. U.S. Chief Technology Officer Ethan Klein shared, "The Super Intelligence President has spoken! The United States will continue to be a global leader in the field of super intelligence." However, Canada's Minister of Artificial Intelligence, Evan Solomon, expressed that they are not excited about this new naming.
